About Us - Rick and Wendy
Rick and Wendy moved to the tropical islands of Vanuatu, in the far North West corner of the South Pacific, after teaching English as a second languange in Hong Kong. Vanuatu. It sounded a great place for retirement, with its own superannuation scheme - a rental property. After working for 25 years for Qantas, Rick was happy to settle on a quiet tropical island.
Wrong! Instead of retiring, Rick and Wendy bought a run-down property and turned it into a successful and unique boutique holiday resort, Seachange Lodge. A real home away from home. They put in touches that you normally only find in large expensive resorts. Touches that give it that extra homely atmosphere, as well as being totally private.
Yes, Vanuatu was voted the Happiest Country on Earth in 2006 a the Dream Destination by Sweden in 2008. But there was a problem in paradise.
Education in Vanuatu is not free:
- Only 55.8% of children get to year 6
- Only 18.2% go to High School
- 26% Never go to school at all.
These horrifying statistics have not changed since the survey in 1999.
Please Note: If you have read these statistics on our other pages, we make no apology. They are the only way to see the true picture of what these kids face. A picture we need to keep before us every day our own chidren enjoy the privilege of free, high quality education. A privilege many throw away, simply because it is free and readily available.
Outer Island Community Needs Help

From the start Rick and Wendy began supporting the local community. People who live on under $1 a day and frequently cannnot send their children to high school. School teachers trying to teach children, with no resources or teaching aids at all. Pencils broken into three to try and give the children something to write with. Exercise books broken apart with one page at a time being given to the children. |
When it came time for Rick and Wendy to truly retire they had a problem. To just sell Seachange Lodge would mean they could no longer be of any assistance to the communities.That's when they came up with the idea of forming YouMe Support Foundation Charity and Child Trust Fund, and also forming Win a Resort.com.
No one had done anything quite like this and the prize seemed too good to be true. People were happy to accept accommodation as a raffle, but had difficulty coping with the concept of winning the Entire Property.
With the Blue Moon Opportunity Monthly Draw, a lot more people will have the opportunity to travel to Vanuatu, for free, to check Seachange Lodge out.
All money received from the raffle goes directly into the YouMe Support Foundation Charity under the oversight of the Board of Directors and an international accounting firm.
