GuGu is a 240 pound, cuddly, cute-looking panda, living in the Beijing zoo. However, his nature does not follow his looks, as a visitor found recently out. Climbing a five foot barrier into GuGu’s enclosure, to retrieve his child’s toy, the visitor was grabbed by the panda. The victim had to have surgery to his major ligaments.

In an earlier incident a teenager had climbed into the enclosure in October, (can’ visitors read the signs?) The teenager’s flesh was ripped from his legs.

In 2007 GuGu took exception to a drunk who tried to give him a hug. When GuGu bit the man, he bit the panda back.

Moral to the story: don’t be fooled by things that look cute, there may be hidden vices behind those cuddly looks. An encounter with a panda is not the once in a lifetime Blue Moon Opportunity you are looking for.
