The professionals must have been itching to get their hands on the singer, if the new sexy-looking face of Susan Boyle is anything to go by.

Having gained second place to a Dagenham dance group, called Diversity, in Britain’s Got Talent, the 48 year old singer Susan Boyle, from the Scottish village of West Lothian, has discarded the mop of unruly curls, outdated dress and bushy eyebrows. Now elegantly dressed, carefully applied make up and well groomed, she showed off her new sophisticated image in the United States chat show, Today, in her first interview since the finals.

Susan has come a long way from the person who first walked onto centre stage at the widely televised talent show. A middle aged frumpy looking woman in an outdated dress, with a thick Scottish accent, whom no one really expected to be able to sing, as was evidenced in the raised eyebrows and rolling eyes of the audience. The looks of disbelief on both the judges and audience faces when liquid gold rolled from Susan’s mouth, will go down as one of the great moments of show business.

Susan’s video on YouTube became one of the most watched videos of all time, taking hundreds of thousands of hits.

When asked about how she is handling her success, Susan replied “Being plucked from obscurity is like going on a long journey. You never know how it’s going to end. I don’t want it to end.”

Suffering from exhaustion, Susan was admitted to The Priory, immediately following the final of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’. Since leaving there she has been working on her debut album, which is expected to be released before Christmas, under Simon Cowell’s SyCo Record Label.

Boyle stole the hearts of millions when she rose to stardom overnight, with her rendition of ‘I Dreamed A Dream, from the musical Le Miserables. Though her next performance on the talent show lacked the same lustre as her first performance, there was no doubting the strength and beauty of her voice.

Susan can no longer be dubbed the ‘Hairy Angel’ and her golden voice will be heard for many years to come.
