Journalist Sentenced To 60 Lashes

win a resort - saudi journalistRozanne al-Yami,22, A Saudi female journalist, has been sentenced to 69 lashes, after charging her, over her involvement in a television show, in which a Saudi man publicly talked about sex.

“I am too frustrated and upset to appeal the sentence,” she said.Al-Yami worked as a coordinator for the television show, but has denied working on the sex-show episode.

Pilots Overshoot Airport

Win a Resort - Northwest AirlinesPilots on a commercial flight of Northwest Airline were unable to be raised for over an hour. Military jets were getting prepared to chase them.

Federal investigators struggle to determine what the crew members of the jetliner were doing at 37,000 feet as they sped 150 miles past their Minneapolis destination.

The pilots passed breathalyzer tests and were apologetic after the flight.

Reality Television Earns People Thousands Of Dollars

Richard and Mayumi Heene, the storm-chasing, wife-swapping, publicity-loving and amateur scientists notified the police their six year old son was missing. It started a three county chase for the missing child, costing around $US36,000. The police are of the opinion that the entire incident was an elaborate, very well thought out hoax.

This hard-to-treat germ, rarely seen outside hospitals, is known as MRSA. It is methicillin-resistant Straphylococcus aureus. However, the fear is that it has spread to settings such as schools, locker rooms and gyms.

Illegal Drug Washed Up On Beaches

Recently a two pound brick of illegal drugs were found washed up, by volunteers who were cleaning the beach on a Saturday morning on Dauphin Island, Alabama.

Lost and Found Balloon Boy

win a resort - balloon boyMillions of viewers across America were anxiously glued to their computers and television sets, watching live updates on the flying-saucer-shaped-helium balloon, that was purportedly carrying a young Colorado boy, nicknamed ‘Balloon Boy’.

“We were working on an experimental craft. A low altitude-vehicle for people to pull out of their garages and hove over traffic for about 50 – 100 feet,” said Richard Heene, Falcon’s father.

It was reported that six-year-old Falcon was on board the run-away balloon, being carried by high winds on to the planes of Colorado. Falcon Heene, of Fort Collins, was videoed climbing into the utility compartment underneath the balloon.

Will 820 Ni-Vanuatu Children Set A New World Record?

win a resort - studentsHidden away in the North West corner lies one of the greatest secrets of the South Pacific, the mystical 83 tropical island nation of Vanuatu, (New Hebrides). Vanuatu is one of the top holiday destinations of the area, being only a three hour flight out of Sydney, Australia.

On November 19th, 2009, YouMe Support Foundation will bring together 820 high school Ni-Vanuatu children, who are preparing to explore and write about the wonders of their country, from the world’s largest banyan tree, a live volcano and giant kauri forests in the south, to giant clams and water music in the far north. The students will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the ‘Most People To Write A Story Within 24 Hours’.

For many of the students English is their third or fourth language, making the challenge much more difficult.
