Children Left Behind
Children left behind by the 21st Century. They live in a cashless society. They will never have the opportunity to go to high school. Your donation can change these kids lives. They can change the life in their isolated island village.
In Vanuatu, in the South Pacific, education is not free. These kids are locked between the ancient custom ways of their village and the demands of the modern world. They live in an edcuational ‘no-man’s land’. No one is there to help them. Not their parents, not the government. NO ONE.
It’s not easy to get there, but you can visit these children for yourself. They love to have visitors and treat you like royalty. The best time of the year is winter, May to October. At Seachange Lodge we will help you make all the travel arrangements. It is an adventure you will never forget. It will change your life.
You need to allow a week to 10 days to fly in and back from these isolated islands. Planes fly in a couple of times a week. It is 25 k to the village from the grass landing strip. The villagers will meet you in their one truck.
The stress of modern living drops away as you enter the untouched wilderness. The friendliness and acceptance by the people is absolutely amazing. You will have a totally memorable experience.
You can make a difference in their lives, when you donate to YouMe Support Foundation, through winaresort. You also enter the Draw to own Seachange Lodge - your own private holiday home, plus 6 holiday units for your family and friends. Or we can assist you to sell it and you walk away with the cash.
Left Behind…
“My name is Thomas.
My friends have gone away to high school. My parents have no money so I am left behind. Everyday I get up and go and help dad in the vegetable garden, or catch fish with him for Mum to cook. In the afternoon I help my Mum get firewood so she can cook our meal. I dream of being a carpenter. I want to build houses for my family that won’t blow away when the cylcone comes. Now I can’t because I can’t go to high school. There is no one to help me”
Hard Worker…
“My name is David.
I am working hard to get good marks. I really want to go to high school. But I won’t be able to unless some one can pay for me to go. My best friend is going because his dad has a small job with the government. I am sad I can’t go with my friend. I want to be a teacher so I can help others learn to read and write. My mum can’t read or write. I could help her learn, when I come home for holidays.”
Caring Heart…
“I am Trudy.
I want to be a nurse and help the people when they get sick. I have no one to help me to go to high school. Mum and Dad have no money. Last year my younger sister got very sick. There was no one to help her. We were so afraid she would die.”
You can help these kids for less than the cost of a fancy dinner in a restaurant for two people. Donate now and give them a future.
